Man charged in Newton townhouse fire

On April 26, 2024, Surrey RCMP informed the public about an arson investigation into a townhouse fire in the 12700 block of 66 Avenue in which one man had been taken into police custody. (See April 26, 2024 media release).

Amritpal Dhindsa, 22-years-old, has been charged with the following offences:

• Arson
• Assault with a Weapon
• Uttering Threats
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x2

Dhindsa has been remanded until his next court appearance on May 3, 2024.
