File # 2023-113946

On July 9, 2023 at approximately 5:07 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a shooting in an alleyway north of 96 Avenue and 130 Street that has left one man deceased.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male victim unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a white Ford Edge SUV. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police are investigating whether a burnt out vehicle located a short time later in the area of 8200-block of 151A Street is connected to the homicide. No suspect description is currently available, and police are looking for any witnesses or those with dash camera footage from the area, to contact police.

The scene was cordoned off for a significant amount of time while the investigation unfolded. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called and will be working in partnership with Surrey RCMP.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase; no further information will be provided at this time. Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.

Anyone with further information who has not already spoken to police is asked to contact the IHIT Information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
